What to look for in a metal model kit
- Tabs or screws. Tab kits (most Piececool and architecture models) fold metal tabs through slots; screw kits (most mechanical insects) bolt together. Screw kits are more forgiving if you need to undo a step.
- Part count. Under 250 parts is an evening or two; 400-700 is a weekend project; over 1,000 is a long build for experienced hands.
