Why it is listed here

Detail brushes place colour; drybrushes reveal shape. Dragging a nearly dry brush across a raised surface catches only the high points, which is the fastest way to turn a uniform plastic or resin piece into something that looks weathered. Using a detail brush for this destroys the point in a few strokes, so a separate set earns its place.

Using it on a kit

Load very little paint, then wipe most of it onto kitchen paper before touching the model – drybrushing fails when the brush is too wet. Work in light passes; you cannot easily undo it.
