It is the simplest way to try wired lighting before committing to a multi-set kit, or to add a single porch lamp or fireplace glow to a build you have already finished. The ABS box is described as shockproof, and the battery door is designed for easy changes. Because it supplies a plain 3V DC output, it can later power other small LEDs once you are comfortable with basic wiring.
Using it on a kit
Decide where the switch will sit first, usually on the back wall or under the base, then route the LED lead to the fitting inside. Secure the wire with small dabs of glue or tape along corners so it cannot tug the LED out of position. Two AA batteries are needed and are not in the box.
