My Cutebee is an independent discovery and education site for book nooks, miniature houses, wooden puzzles, metal models and the tools used to build them. This page explains how we research products, what our recommendations mean and how affiliate relationships are kept separate from editorial decisions.
What we do
We organise a large catalogue of kits into useful categories, create beginner guides and compare products using information a shopper can verify. Our aim is to reduce uncertainty before a visitor leaves for a retailer: What is the product? Who made it? What materials and skills does it involve? Will it fit the intended shelf? Which extras may be needed?
Our source hierarchy
We prefer sources in this order:
- Current manufacturer or brand documentation
- The current retailer listing connected to the product
- Instructions, package information or safety guidance supplied for the exact model
- Consistent facts visible across multiple reliable listings
- Editorial inference, clearly presented as guidance rather than manufacturer fact
Listings can change. We preserve model-specific details where possible and encourage readers to verify live price, stock, seller, delivery, age guidance and box contents at checkout.
How products enter the catalogue
A product must fit a useful site category and have enough identifiable information to create a responsible page. We look for a specific title or model, credible imagery, a destination listing and details that help a visitor compare it. We may exclude or remove products when the destination disappears, the identity is unclear, the page cannot add value or the item no longer fits the site.
What we compare
- Product type and intended finished use
- Brand or manufacturer shown by the source
- Materials and assembly style
- Published piece count and finished dimensions, when available
- Lighting, dust protection and moving features
- Included tools, glue, paint and batteries
- Instruction format and likely skill demands
- Display, scale and gift suitability
Piece count is not treated as a universal difficulty score. A kit with many repeated structural pieces can be easier than a smaller scene with paper craft, wiring and fragile decoration.
Hands-on testing and language
We do not claim that a product was physically built or tested unless the relevant page explicitly documents that work. Most catalogue pages are evidence-based product summaries created from available specifications and listing information. Phrases such as “best for” describe an editorial match to a use case, not a laboratory ranking or performance guarantee.
We avoid unsupported claims about guaranteed fit, delivery, Prime eligibility, safety, price, stock or results. A retailer—not My Cutebee—processes the purchase and controls the live commercial terms.
Brand accuracy
The site name does not mean every item is manufactured by Cutebee. Our catalogue includes multiple brands. We use the source listing to identify the brand and correct legacy naming when better evidence becomes available. Product URLs may retain older wording so useful links do not break, while the visible title and content show the corrected identity.
Affiliate relationships
Some outbound links are affiliate links. If a visitor follows one and makes a qualifying purchase, My Cutebee may receive a commission at no extra cost to the visitor. Affiliate eligibility does not guarantee inclusion, a favourable description or a particular ranking. We do not accept payment to change a factual correction.

Updates and corrections
We review the catalogue and guides when we add products, find conflicts, receive a correction or identify a stale destination. Material content changes update the WordPress modified date. Because retailer data can change faster than editorial pages, the retailer’s current checkout page remains the authority for price, availability, seller and delivery.
If you find an incorrect brand, broken link, unsupported statement or outdated specification, send the page URL and the evidence through our contact page. We will investigate and correct the page when warranted.
Safety and suitability
Miniature kits can include small parts, blades, adhesives, batteries, wires and metal edges. Our content is general educational information, not a substitute for the product manual, safety label or qualified advice. Follow the manufacturer’s age guidance and provide adult supervision where required.
Editorial independence in practice
